‘Best year yet’ at O’Connor horse-breeding firm

Cian O’Connor has struck gold this year as his horse-breeding firm is on course to post record revenues of €10.4m. Mr O’Connor said yesterday that “2016 looks to be our best year yet”.

Winning an Olympic bronze at the 2012 London Olympics has proven to be “a game-changer” for his bloodstock business, based at Tara in Co Meath.

The bloodstock business firm, Ronnoco Jump Ltd, last year had revenues of €8.5m, he said. The revenues were generated from horse sales and his coaching work. The top price for one of the stables’ horses last year was €1.3m.
