Bank of Ireland will likely further delay its decision on resuming dividend payouts until the first half of next year, according to analysts.

The bank yesterday released an interim management statement more upbeat than some analysts had expected, but, nonetheless, made no mention of any schedule for resuming dividend payments.

The shares rose 1 cent to 20 cent as the bank detailed the effects of the Brexit fallout in a drop in bond yields which, in turn, led to an increase in the deficit in its defined benefit pension scheme.
