Fitzers catering business bounces back into profit

The Dublin firm employs more than 470 full-time and part-time employees. Chief executive Barry Storey yesterday confirmed that the business last year recorded a post-tax profit of €446,632 as revenues exceeded company forecasts to top €15.3m.

The profit in 2015 and projected profit of €410,000 in 2016 follows 2014, which saw losses of €633,537.

Mr Storey said yesterday: “Fitzers Catering are delighted to return to profit in 2015 and the company has moved on from the transition year of 2014, whereby the company recorded losses for the first time.

“We have now established a strong diverse blend of businesses that underpins the company overall within sectors such as corporate catering, the sporting sector, film, festival and commercial trade as well as the conference business that has the company less reliant on any one venue or sector.”

Jadotville is one of a number of productions for which Fitzers has provided on-site catering services in 2015 and 2016.

Mr Storey said the firm is providing services to the new Mel Gibson and Sean Penn movie, The Professor and The Madman, and to the RTÉ follow-up to Rebellion, Acceptable Risk, having previously provided catering services for Love/Hate.
