French fans sing Irish chant at Lyon police

It seems the Irish fans have left a lasting legacy at the Euros, even if they can’t be there themselves.

French fans sing Irish chant at Lyon police

A video posted to the France 3 Rhône-Alpes Facebook page shows some French supporters in Lyon on Sunday, celebrating after their win against… well, you know.

When faced with some local police, the jubilant fans in blue took a leaf out of the Irish playbook and started singing "Stand Up For The French Police".

As we are all aware by now, that was sung over and over (and over and over) again by the Irish supporters and it seems to have caught on.

Le Parisien even reported on the fun with the headline: "Euro 2016: the French copy the Irish singing for police".

Well, we weren’t going to say anything… But they’ve even mastered the art of non-threatening hugs!

The more the merrier.
