The lack of major one-off events, such as big European Rugby Cup matches and Bruce Springsteen concerts, resulted in operating profits halving at the company which owns Thomond Park.

Newly filed accounts for Thomond Park Stadium Company Ltd show a 60% decline in operating profit — from €286,000 to €116,000 — in the 12 months to the end of last June.

However, revenues increased by 10%, to €2.35m, as the full year income from the operation of the stadium bars was realised.
