U2 earns €142m in box office sales

U2 last year grossed $152.2m (€141.6m) in box office receipts as 1.2m fans paid to see the band perform across the globe.

That is according to new figures from trade industry journal Pollstar which show that Niall Horan’s One Direction narrowly beat U2 in the ‘Pollstar 2015 World Tour’ rankings to grab third spot.

Pollstar reveals that One Direction recorded gross receipts of $158.8m.
