US multinational firms 'will create 14,000 jobs in Ireland in the next two years'

Some 14,000 jobs are likely to be created by the Irish-based divisions of US multinational companies over the next two years, the sector’s chief representative body has forecast.

According to the American Chamber of Commerce Ireland US firms have already announced about 7,500 jobs in their Irish operations this year and employ more than 140,000 here.

The chamber yesterday held its World of Talent event, in Dublin, which is supported by IDA Ireland and aimed at attracting people to Ireland to work with US multinationals.
