The euro rose for a third day yesterday, extending its longest winning streak since September, after ECB president Mario Draghi suggested further monetary stimulus may not be required after all.

It strengthened against most of its major counterparts as Mr Draghi said whether the central bank needs to boost its quantitative-easing programme is still an “open question”.

In an interview with Italy’s Il Sole 24 Ore over the weekend, he said it is too early to pass judgement on lowering the deposit rate.
