Irish firms counting the cost of IT complexity

An IT bottleneck caused by companies moving to more modern systems is hindering their ability to innovate, adding to security concerns and costing them thousands of euro more per year. New research suggests that as companies transition from old IT infrastructure to cloud-based services, innovation is suffering and costs are spiralling.

Many organisations have found themselves with hybrid IT systems running across a range of platforms as they attempt to modernise their business.

While adoption of cloud services is an encouraging development some of the consequences of this modernisation are causing serious issues, according to Sunguard Availability Services Keith Tilley.
