Two companies plan to create 120 jobs

More than 100 jobs were yesterday announced for Dublin and Kildare by two companies.

In Dublin, business analytics software company Tableau is to increase its workforce here from the current 40 to more than 120.

The Seattle-headquartered firm helps users quickly analyse, visualise, and share information and data.

It expects to create the roles over the next three years as it continues regional expansion.

“Tableau is experiencing strong growth in demand in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) region. Ireland will play a strategic role in supporting this growth over the coming years,” said IDC chief executive Martin Shanahan.

“Tableau’s decision to be in the heart of Dublin strengthens Ireland’s existing ‘big data’ cluster and complements IDA’s strategy of winning investments in this important and thriving sector.”

Tableau announced annual international revenue growth of 83% in the second quarter of 2015.

Customers include Bank of Ireland, Irish Life, AWAS Aviation, Barclays, Visa Europe, and French banking firm BNP Paribas.

Meanwhile, security company Manguard Plus announced 40 jobs, to coincide with the opening of its €1m command and control centre in Naas, Co Kildare.

The company said the centre, opened yesterday by Justice Minister Frances Fitzgerald, is the first paperless office with integrated computer systems that communicate with each other.

This brings a new dimension to the security industry and allows Manguard Plus to offer significant savings to existing and future clients.

The company’s services include CCTV monitoring.

Its client web portal allows access to management information and will be run from the new control centre.
