The first spirits of the newly- established Boann Distillery in Drogheda which is to create 80 jobs will flow in late 2015 marking the realisation of a €20m investment in the facility.

The distillery in the heart of the Boyne Valley which includes a craft brewery, whiskey distillery, taproom and visitor centre will open fully early next year.

The project is the brainchild of long-time drinks industry expert, Pat Cooney who helped build the Gleeson Group into one of the major players in the Irish manufacturing and wholesale drinks business before selling part of the business to C&C in 2012.
