€50m upgrade to ABP facilities to create 152 jobs in Tipperary

A €50 million upgrade of the ABP food processing facilities in Cahir, Co. Tipperary, will create 152 new jobs and is expected to inject over €1bn into the economy over the next five years.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny, who launched the re-development yesterday, with Jobs Minister Richard Bruton, said the investment is another sign of the progress, momentum and confidence in the agri-food industry. “I’m delighted Government was able to support this investment, in a collaboration of state and private sectors, which is essential to ensure future growth and success,” he said.

The flagship facilities in Cahir are part of the ABP Food Group, one of Europe’s leading privately-owned agri-business companies, which employs over 8,000 people.
