The State’s best known marriage counselling service has put the brakes on plans to redevelop the €70m Garda regional headquarters site on Harcourt Street in Dublin.

Accord has stalled the Hibernia REIT plan, claiming that the building works may disrupt Accord’s marriage counselling sessions that take place in its building adjacent to the site which is leased to the Office of Public Works and occupied by An Garda Síochána.

Earlier this year, Hibernia announced that it had acquired the landmark site, as part of the €448m it invested in its first full year operating in the Dublin property market.
