Limerick is destined to become the country’s most advanced city, but it must keep “the shoulder to the wheel” to get there, former Kerry Group chief Denis Brosnan said yesterday.

Mr Brosnan was speaking at a funciton where he was honoued by Limerick Chamber of Commerce who made him an honorary life member to acknowledge his contribution to the economic development of the Mid-West region through his tenure as chair of the Regional Jobs Task Force, the Limerick Re-Organisation Group and now chair of the Limerick Economic Forum.

Presenting the award Catherine Duffy, president of Limerick Chamber, said: “The appointment of Denis Brosnan to chair the Regional Jobs Task Force in 2009 by the then-tánaiste was an inspired choice.
