Pre-tax profits at one of the country’s best known engineering consultancy firms last year increased in spite of a drop in revenues.

New accounts filed by JB Barry & Partners Holdings Ltd show that pre-tax profits at the firm last year increased by 37% to €124,384 as revenues dipped from €6.59m to €6.48m. Numbers employed by the firm remained static at 67 and the profit last year takes account of exceptional costs of €130,842.

According to the directors’ report, “at the date of this report, there exists a firm order book. The directors anticipate that the group will continue to be profitable with revenue and the related cost base expected to remain at current levels for the short term”.
