Profits slide 26% at Daniel O’Donnell’s company

Figures, lodged by O’Donnell’s Brockwell Ltd show the firm’s accumulated profits declined from €2.07m to €1.53m in 2013. The main activity of the firm is tour operation and the figures show that the firm’s cash pile in 2013 reduced from €989,373 to €931,276.
An auditor’s report attached to the accounts states the company recorded a profit for the year. A note in the accounts states that during 2013, the company was charged €281,781 by Daniel O’Donnell and his DOD Promotions Ltd. It further states that a total of €913,843 2 was owed by Brockwell to Mr O’Donnell and DOD Promotions at the balance sheet date.
Activity at the firm this year will not be as strong after the singer recently began what he has called an extended break from music from February of this year. Mr O’Donnell said last year that he and his wife, Majella had to take stock of things after her cancer diagnosis.
Separate figures show that in 2013 accumulated profits at Mr O’Donnell’s DOD Promotions topped €3m. This followed the firm recording profits of €215,554 in 2013. A household name in Ireland and the UK for three decades, accounts for Mr O’Donnell’s DOD Promotions show that the firm’s cashpile decreased from €1m to €875,452 in 2013. Brockwell is co-owned by Mr O’Donnell and music industry figure, Mick Clerkin. Each party owns a 50% share in the firm.
