LogMeIn brings 90 jobs to Dublin

Dublin’s Silicon Docks is to welcome another tranche of workers after a US cloud software company said it is to triple its workforce.

Boston firm LogMeIn is to add 90 workers to its payroll bringing its total workforce at its Europe, Middle East and Asian headquarters to 135.

The announcement was made yesterday as the cloud services company opened its newly expanded Dublin base with a capacity to accommodate the new roles. The positions will span technical roles, sales, marketing, finance, HR and IT, many of which are actively open.

LogMeIn chief executive and co-founder Michael Simon hailed the availability of highly-skilled workers as a key factor in its expansion here, adding that the move is testament to its recognition of Dublin as one of the best markets in the world for attracting top talent.

The company designs products to simplify how people connect with devices, colleagues and customers across its range of products including its internet of things (IoT) platform, Xively.

Welcoming the news, IDA Ireland chief executive Martin Shanahan said: “LogMeIn’s plans to further increase its workforce at their new office in Dublin’s Grand Canal Dock is another vote of confidence in Ireland’s growing tech hub. It also demonstrates the strength of the talent pool that is available in Ireland”.

Jobs Minister Richard Bruton said the Government has targeted technology firms and those in the cloud computing sphere in particular to attract jobs. LogMeIn’s headquarters is in its home city of Boston with offices in India, Budapest, London and Sydney among others.
