Iseq leads the way as Europe has strong day of trading
Positive early trading on the US markets, coupled with stronger market sentiment after recent weakness, exchanges higher. The Iseq index led the way in Europe as investors continue to buy into the recovery play in the Irish economy.
The index was up over 2% or 113.83 points to close at 5232.01. Financials were mixed on the day as AIB and Permanent TSB both lost ground. The former shed 0.2c to 7.9c while the latter dropped 0.01c to 6.1c.
