90% of hoteliers upbeat for prospects in new year

More than 40% of hoteliers are concerned about the viability of their business, despite 90% being upbeat regarding their prospects for the next 12 months.

The latest tourism sector barometer, from the Irish Hotels Federation, offers something of a mixed bag in that it shows the existence of high levels of short-term optimism within the industry, but also concerns about the sustainability of the sector’s recent growth.

As well as the 90% of hoteliers who are optimistic about 2015, 86% have reported increased business levels this year and 66% have expanded their staff numbers.
