Saving on the up after drop-off in October

The number of people saving regularly increased to 37% in November, 5% ahead of the level measured at the same point in 2013.

Overall, the Nationwide UK (Ireland)/ESRI Savings Index, which measures sentiment towards saving, increased to 104 in November, up 10 points on October. The increase was largely driven by people’s rising confidence in their saving behaviour and the amount they save.
