Iseq makes gains in mixed day for markets across Europe

Yesterday was a mixed day for European bourses as Germany, France and Ireland led the way. The Dax continued its recent solid run and the Iseq and Cac40 followed the trend

Iseq makes gains in mixed day for markets across Europe

The Ftse was slightly down. The Iseq index finished the day up 27.40 points at 4,997.87.

Bank stocks also had a mixed day as AIB dropped over 8% or 0.7c to 7.4c as the stock continued to sell off. Bank of Ireland gained 0.4c to 31.5c, while Permanent TSB Group was up 0.1c to 6.3c.

Stocks in the construction sector performed well as CRH continued its strong run of late. The stock traded 19.5c better to €18.67. Kingspan was 0.7c higher at €13.105.

Elsewhere, Irish book maker Paddy Power gave up some of its recent gains, shipping almost 2% or 117c to €61.31 while low fares airline Ryanair tacked on 15.1c to €8.56.
