29,000 customers dump Vodafone

Vodafone Ireland has continued to haemorrhage customers, according to its latest interim report, with 29,000 mobile users moving away from the world’s second largest mobile operator in the last three months.

The announcement follows news in July that its mobile customer base — which now stands at 2.3m — fell by 34,000 in the second quarter.

The drop-off in customer numbers was partly offset by increased average revenue per user, however, which rose 2.4% quarter-on-quarter to €29.3 in the three months to the end of September.
