EMC plans package to help people move to the cloud

Called EMC Enterprise Hybrid Cloud Solution, the products will let applications be moved from private servers to internet-based clouds from EMC and VMware partners, as well as Microsoft’s Azure and Amazon Web Services, said Jeremy Burton, EMC’s president of products and marketing.

As part of a push to boost its cloud-computing business, the company said it acquired Maginatics, whose file system helps locate information stored in the cloud, and Spanning Cloud Apps to provide data back-up and recovery.
