Ladbrokes’ Irish revenues up 1.1%

The British betting and gaming services giant said, as part of its latest quarterly trading update yesterday, that amounts staked over-the-counter at its Irish stores fell by 11.4%. Ladbrokes operates around 300 retail outlets on the island of Ireland; the vast majority being located in the Republic.
“In the Republic of Ireland, we are in the process of responding to challenging conditions, driven by the effect of continued promotional-led competition. Better sporting results and margins delivered an increase in net revenue of 1%,” the company said.
