The dual return of a prestigious sporting event and hotel, allied to the continued pursuit of culinary perfection were the driving forces behind the success of the Cork Business Awards quarterly winners.

The Fota Collection, which consists of Fota Island and The Kingsley hotel, and Jacques Restaurant were yesterday named winners of the awards by the Cork Business Association and will be entered into the annual CBA ‘Business of the Year’ awards in their respective categories.

Jacques Restaurant was recognised in the medium/ small business category for its service to the people of Cork City over the last 30 years, while the successful return of the Irish Open golf tournament to Cork and the re-opening of the Kingsley hotel at Victoria Cross. were recognised as major events for the city as The Fota Collection scooped the large business award.
