66,000 new cars sold as half-year sales jump 24%

The number of new cars sold in the first half of this year is the best since 2008, and up 24% on the same period for 2013.

That’s according to figures released by car history experts motorcheck.ie which suggests that almost 90,000 new vehicles could be sold before the end of the year.

Almost 66,000 new vehicles were sold up to the end of last month, which is a significant rise on the first six months of 2013.
