IDA posts 35 execs abroad to win extra investment
The ‘Winning Abroad’ initiative will start hiring immediately to fill the posts.
The aim is to secure investment from companies that do not currently have a presence in Ireland.
“I am delighted to welcome the start of recruitment for these 35 additional IDA roles.
“In constrained times, securing additional staff represents a significant win for my department and IDA Ireland and indicates the importance of the jobs agenda to this Government,” said Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton.
“This is a great example of smart use of resources and shows the priority assigned by Mr Howlin to job creation.
“Most importantly, these extra positions will directly lead to the creation of 10,000 additional jobs for Ireland over the coming years.”
The roles will be in locations including Boston, New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Austin, Mountain View and Irvine, all in the US, as well as London, Frankfurt, Paris, Tokyo, Mumbai, Bangalore, Shanghai, Sydney and Dublin.
The new staff members will be responsible for identifying new sectors and business opportunities. All new executives will be hired on three-year fixed term contracts.
“IDA as an organisation has had several successful years of delivering FDI for Ireland.
“Now the organisation has been given the opportunity to build on that success with additional resources to win more employment and investment from global markets,” said IDA Ireland’s CEO Barry O’Leary.
