Entrepreneurs urged to get applications in for Cork Foundation funds deadline
Announced last year the Cork Foundation is aiming to raise €5m to help drive growth in Cork and provided €50,000 in November.
The first tranche of funding was drawn down by the Northside Community Enterprise and PMD Solutions which resulted in the creation of four jobs in Cork.
Cork Foundation chairperson, Yvonne Barry, said that if they get the applications in they will be able to provide more funding as part of the second tranche.
“To me it is all about job creation and the more application that we can get in that demonstrate that they will create jobs in Cork the more funding we will be able to give out,” she said.
Ms Barry said the foundation is aiming to overcome some of the gaps that exist in funding new businesses so that job creation can drive growth in the region.
“Cork has so much to offer and has many strong indigenous businesses that are facing challenges in accessing credit. We complement existing support services by bridging finance gaps in current models. We are now urging local enterprises, be they established or start-up, to submit their applications to be considered for funding.”
Organisations can apply online via www.corkfoundation.com
The initiative is the first in Ireland bringing business people and political figures together to seek contributions from donors at home and abroad. “We have a number of very exciting fundraising initiatives that will be announced coming up Stateside,” said Ms Barry.
