Glanbia chief’s overall package now €1.03m

Glanbia’s new chief executive Siobhan Talbot saw her basic salary increase by 16%, last year, although her overall remuneration remained flat due to a lowering in her pension contribution and other benefits.

Ms Talbot — who took over from John Moloney as the Co Kilkenny- headquartered dairy and nutritionals group’s managing director last November — received a basic salary of €433,000 for 2013, according to Glanbia’s newly published annual report.

Her total remuneration amounted to just under €1.03m, last year, compared to just over €1.04m for the previous year.

Former group managing director, John Moloney received a basic salary of €506,000. However, his overall remuneration dipped from €1.63m to just over €1.2m.

Hugh McGuire — head of Glanbia’s global performance nutrition business as of last June, received €233,000 in basic pay, with his total package amounting to €584,000. The other two members of Glanbia’s executive board, as of last year — namely Brian Phelan, chief executive of the group’s global ingredients arm; and group finance director, Mark Garvey — received total remuneration of €876,000 and €129,000.

Last month, Glanbia published a strong set of annual results, for 2013, beating expectations with an 8% increase in total group revenue to €3.28bn. Pre-tax profits grew 17% to €176m.
