Debenhams and Daly Opticians named as Cork businesses of the year

Debenhams and Daly Opticians were last night announced as the overall winners of the Cork Business Association ‘business of the year’ awards, in the large and small/medium enterprise categories, respectively.

At an awards reception in the Cork Opera House, Lord Mayor Cllr Catherine Clancy said: “The Cork business of the year awards identify, honour, and acknowledge businesses who have contributed to or promoted the enhancement of the commercial, cultural, or civic life in Cork City and I would like to sincerely congratulate Debenhams and Daly s Opticians on their outstanding achievement.”

James O’Sullivan, the chairman of the awards committee, said: “The calibre of the entries for this year’s Cork Business Association business of the year awards was extremely high and we would like to congratulate all of our quarterly winners for their outstanding contribution to Cork business, in particular this year’s overall winners, Debenhams and Daly Opticians.”
