The recent profit surge at the PR firm led by broadcaster Anton Savage slowed last year as the firm re-invested in the business.

New accounts show that accumulated profits at The Communications Clinic Ltd marginally by €11,661 from €534,155 to €545,816 in the 12 months to the end of March 31 last.

This contrasts with the firm’s most profitable year to date in fiscal 2012 when it increased its profits by €150,196.

The firm’s cash pile decreased last year from €552,203 to €455,505.

The firm’s directors include Mr Savage’s parents, Tom Savage, who is current chair of the RTÉ Authority, and broadcaster and columnist, Terry Prone.

All three had worked at Carr Communications before establishing the Communications Clinic in 2008.

Presenter of Savage Sunday on Today FM and MD of the firm, Mr Savage said yesterday: “Our business continues to outperform our plans, and we’ve recently had a number of new client acquisitions, including some significant national and international brands.”

He said they had secured and fitted out a stand-alone headquarters, The Old Synagogue on Adelaide Road, and replaced our IT infrastructure and have improved our training facilities.

He said they intended to continue with this programme of investment.
