Ulster Bank set to close additional branches

A company-wide review set to be released next week will reveal that Ulster Bank will close more branches and move some head office functions to Britain, but it will maintain a full banking presence in Ireland, according to a person familiar with the situation.

Ulster Bank’s parent company, Royal Bank of Scotland, is currently conducting a review of its operations, which is scheduled to be released on February 27.

There has been growing speculation over recent months that RBS would close down the bulk of Ulster Bank’s operations in this country.
