Greencore AGM : ‘Two-pronged approach’ for driving growth in US market

Greencore is to adopta “two-pronged approach” of organic and acquisition-led growth in its US operations, telling shareholders yesterday that the prospects in that market are so strong that no opportunity can be ignored.

Addressing shareholders at the convenience food group’s AGM, in north Dublin yesterday, chairman Gary Kennedy said that while the US operational focus will mainly remain on organic growth, the group can only serve so many states with its product from its current locations.

Through previous acquisitions, Greencore has six facilities in the US — mainly dotted around the east of the country, although it has one facility in Salt Lake City.
