US Chamber urges tax incentives

The American Chamber of Commerce Ireland (AmCham) has suggested further tax incentives for US multinationals as a way of persuading them to invest funds deposited in Dublin for tax purposes into the wider Irish economy.

Despite claiming there might be more opportunity for the reinvestment of such funds as the economy grows, AmCham said that putting firm proposals to Government is not a current priority.

Louise Phelan was yesterday unveiled as the new president of AmCham and said it is “continually discussing”, with Government and relevant stakeholders, ways of better using such funds.
