Robbie Keane scores as promotions company’s profits surpass €150,000
According to accounts recently filed with the Companies House in the UK, accumulated profits at Keane’s Robbie Keane Promotions Ltd increased by 34.5% from £373,969 to £503,326.
The firm’s cash increased by more than 50% from €£99,791 to £163,387 in the 12 months to the end of Mar 31 last year. The firm’s debtors during the period increased from £345,962 to £402,085.
At the end of March last the firm’s abridged accounts show that it had shareholder funds totalling £503,328.
The 33-year-old Tallaght man established the firm in 1999 near the start of his professional soccer career in England when he was playing with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Keane transferred from Wolves to Coventry for a record £6m for a teenager at the time and across his career the cumulative amount from Keane’s transfer deals total over £70m.
Keane — continuing his football career in Los Angelus where he lives with his wife, Claudine and four-year-old son — would have benefited from handsome signing on fees at Inter Milan, Leeds Utd, Tottenham, Liverpool and Los Angelus Galaxy.
The striker is currently returning to fitness after an operation of his Achilles last November in London.
Keane was voted LA Galaxy’s most valuable player last year.
The striker — who is Ireland’s record goalscorer with 62 international goals from 131 appearances — was described by goal.com last year as one of the richest soccer players in the world.
The survey revealed Keane as the 15th richest footballer in the world worth an estimated £€40.6m ranking him ahead of Frank Lampard and John Terry.
Keane is among the top 15 highest goalscorers in the history of the Premier League and has recorded the rare feat of scoring goals in competitions for 10 clubs.
