Health services firm to create 150 jobs in Castlebar
Northgate, which provides services to public hospitals and other bodies, said that the new staff members will be taken on at its operation in Castlebar, Co Mayo.
Roles will include IT, transactional, and document management services.
Northgate executive director Joe Bradley said that the expansion would be good for Ireland as well as for the UK-based firm.
“The creation of an additional 150 jobs is good news for the country and will provide a boost for the Irish economy over time, as well as enhancing Northgate’s contribution to providing key public sector services in Ireland,” said Mr Bradley.
Northgate provides its services to more than half of the hospitals in Ireland, as well as to a number of local authorities and central government departments.
The announcement was made at the first conference of the West/North West Hospitals Group, which is hosting more than 140 healthcare leaders from around the country, along with international guests.
Speaking at the gathering, Bill Maher, who heads the West/North West Hospitals Group, said: “We look forward to deepening our close relationship with Northgate as these 150 new jobs come on stream in Mayo.”
Plans to set up a new Centre for Learning and Innovation to help train medics were also revealed at the conference.
