Charleville engineering company BCD has announced the creation of 40 jobs as a result of a new multi-million euro project, but it may have to look abroad for adequately trained staff.

The company, which already employs 190 people, offers solutions to pharmaceutical companies from the design stage through to installation in factories involving precision engineering, production management and process design.

BCD CEO Sean McGowan said that the new jobs based in Charleville will be a mix of high-value engineering positions and skilled crafts roles which will see the a number of apprentices hires across a number trades.
