220 jobs for Dublin but 80 lost in Mayo

There was mixed news on the jobs front yesterday with 220 jobs created by two Dublin-based firms, but 80 jobs lost in Mayo.

A marketing agency, Acorn, and financial technology firm, Sentenial, both announced that they were intending to grow their staffs by 100 and 110.

Following the loss of a HSE contract, Mayo-based Homecare Medical Supplies announced that it was letting 80 staff go. The bulk of the jobs will go in Kiltimagh, with a further 15 lost in Ballyhaunis and Clonee. The company said that 70 jobs are unaffected by the loss of the contract.
