Packaging company acquires UK business

Smurfit Kappa Group has extended its reach in the UK market by acquiring a packaging company for an undisclosed sum.

The Dublin-headquartered group has — via its Smurfit Kappa UK subsidiary — bought Corby-based CRP Print and Packaging Holdings. The deal is being viewed as a small bolt-on buy.

CRP employs about 220 people and specialises in litho-laminated packaging, 3D point-of-sale packaging, food contact, and heavy duty products. Procter & Gamble and Cadbury are among its clients.
