‘Irish Examiner’ recognises advertisers with awards

The Irish Examiner is turning a spotlight on advertisers and inviting them to take part in a new advertising awards competition.

‘Irish Examiner’ recognises advertisers with awards

Business development manager with the Irish Examiner Gemma Kelleher said the goal of the awards is to highlight the best advertising that the country produces.

“Every day we produce a newspaper and a range of digital products that we hope appeals to our readers, and marketing campaigns aimed at highlighting what we do in new and evocative ways.

“Having run some memorable campaigns for businesses over the years, we want to recognise and reward their contribution in delivering an engaging product to our readers every day,” she said.

The quarterly awards will get under way from Oct 1 — meaning any ad that appears in the Irish Examiner, either in print or online at www.irishexaminer.com, will be automatically entered into the competition.

At the end of each quarter, a panel of judges, comprising of Norah Casey (broadcaster, publisher and CEO of Harmonia), Dr Pio Fenton (head of department of marketing and international business, CIT), Mervyn O’Shaughnessy (CEO, Sales Institute of Ireland) and Karen O’Donoghue (marketing manager, Irish Examiner) will chose their favourite advertising campaigns.

The winners will be featured in the business pages, as well as being invited to a celebratory lunch and awarded a certificate of excellence in recognition of their achievements.
