Zamano rings up 4% rise in pre-tax profits

Dublin-based mobile services provider, Zamano has reported a 4% year-on-year increase in first-half pre-tax profits, although revenue fell by nearly 5% compared to the same period last year.

The company — which provides mobile messaging, advertising and payment support tools — said it had pre-tax profits of €984,000 for the first half of 2013; up from €946,000 for the same period last year. Operating profit of €1.24m represented a year-on-year increase of 14%, but first-half revenue was down by 4.7%, annually, at just over €9m.

Zamano returned to full-year profitability last year, after losses in three of the past four years.
