ISEQ falls ahead of US Fed meeting

Unemployment figures in Europe rose again last quarter but at a slower rate, adding to the hope that the economy is coming out of recession. In the US, all eyes are on next week’s Fed meeting, as investors sit on the fence.

Thus, the ISEQ closed down 27.37 points to 4,209.41.

In the financial sector, Bank of Ireland and AIB closed the week down, with the former shedding 0.8c to 21.5c, and the latter down 0.1c to 7.8c. Permanent TSB regained 0.1c to finish on 3.7c. Insurer FBD Holdings was flat on €14.35.
