Fyffes raises earnings outlook

Fruit distribution giant Fyffes has upped its full-year earnings outlook on the back of a strong first-half showing and continued growth into the latter half of 2013.

The Dublin-headquartered international banana exporter yesterday posted pre-tax profits of €22.2m for the first six months of 2013, a 1.1% increase on the same period last year.

Group revenue was up by 7.5%, at €476m, with total revenue — when the group’s share of joint venture activities are included — showing a 6.4% year-on-year increase to €585.4m.
