The conference forms an integral part of the Global Cork Economic Forum and is a part of Cork Gathering flagship event Rebel Week (Oct 14-20).
Speaking at the launch of the conference, Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney said such events are ‘crucial’ in bringing international entrepreneurs and leaders together.
“In a week when Cork will be welcoming people home for Cork Rebel Week, our businesses and entrepreneurs will be focused on looking at new ways of business growth, job creation and ultimately economic renewal,” he said.
The insights resulting from the conference panel discussions will form part of the morning session on entrepreneurship and innovation at the Global Cork Economic Forum on Thursday Oct 17.
Both events aim to attract international visitors by inviting them to partake in the discussions and, as a result, gain a greater understanding of economic renewal and job creation opportunities specific to Cork City and county.
The first two keynote speakers for the conference have been confirmed as Candace Johnson, one of Time magazine’s 50 most powerful businesswomen in Europe, and Julian Costley, co-founder of E*TRADE UK and former country manager at Reuters.
Partners for the event are AIB, Cork City and County Councils, Cork Business Diaspora and media partner the Irish Examiner.
