International drug company to create 90 jobs with €25m Midlands project

Ninety jobs are expected to be created by an international drug company at a green field site in the Midlands.

Roscommon County Council has cleared the way for the jobs after approving plans to sell seven hectares of its landbank at Monksland on the western outskirts of Athlone.

Jazz Pharmaceuticals is planning a manufacturing facility at the Monksland site which will initially create up to 40 jobs in the construction phase and a further fifty positions, once the facility is up and running.
