Ex-Macra president Jagoe chosen for top role at European council

Macra na Feirme ex-president Alan Jagoe has been elected vice president of CEJA, the European Council of Young Farmers.

Prior to finishing his term with Macra in May, he took a lead role in the Land Mobility and Succession report and CAP reform lobbying.

Macra president Kieran O’Dowd, said: “Alan was an excellent representative for young farmers in his time with Macra. I wish him all the best in the role.”

Mr Jagoe is a 30-year-old dairy, beef, and arable farmer and is farming in partnership with both his father and brother in Carrigaline, Co Cork.

“He is milking 170 cows, and supplying to their local milk co-operative.

Mr Jagoe said: “I want to tackle the many diverse issues and problems affecting young farmers today and develop solutions for the next generation of young farmers.”
