More than 40,000 expected at two of Cork’s biggest summer shows

Some 25,000 people are expected to flock to the Cork Summer Show in the new Showgrounds in Curraheen in Bishopstown on Jun 15 and 16. Before that, more than 15,000 people are expected to visit the Clik All Ireland and International Sheep Shearing & Wool Handling Championships in Green Glens, Millstreet, this coming Saturday and Sunday.

More than 3,000 sheep will be shorn in Millstreet this weekend, which features a wealth of Irish and visiting shearing champions. Among these are world champion Gavin Mutch, from Scotland, and Johnny Kirkpatrick, Hawk’s Bay, New Zealand, a member of the Golden Shears world team champions.
