Scottish exploration company Cairn Energy has added Ireland to its international regional portfolio; buying into two licences in the Porcupine Basin, off the west coast.

Cairn has assets in the North Sea, the Mediterranean, Africa, Scandinavia. and Greenland.

It is investing in two licences, via its Capricorn Ireland subsidiary, currently operated by London-based explorer Chrysaor.
