Accountants ‘will travel for first job’

More than half of accountants are willing to emigrate to find their first job, according to a study by recruitment consultants BDO.

The survey of 146 newly qualified accountants found they placed gaining experience above everything else, with 84% of them saying that experience with a reputable brand is the bigger incentive to join a company than bonuses, a free laptop or additional leave.

Recruitment consultant with BDO Chloe Liddy-Judge said the results show how hungry and how far graduates are willing to go in order to secure the right kind of experience.
