A snapshot of the future at it@cork

Global innovators will offer insights into how future technologies will transform business, at the it@cork European Tech Cluster Summit in Cork on May 15.

More than 300 attendees are expected to hear technical evangelist, Ryan Shuttleworth, of Amazon Web, talk about how ‘cloud’ is a game changer for businesses. He spoke at DigiWorld Summit, in France, recently, and travels extensively to present his thoughts on ‘cloud’.

Rik Ferguson, an ethical hacker, will discuss how cybercrime is big business, and can affect all businesses — not just large corporations. Director of security research with Trend Micro, Ferguson works closely with Europol, the FBI and police authorities in countries all over the world to bring down cybercriminals.

Indigenous companies with global reach will also be represented on the panel.

Andrew O’Shaughnessy, CEO Newsweaver, will discuss how social media has revolutionised our communications and our engagement with customers and stakeholders. He will discuss “social business” and what we can do to enhance our digital communications.

Entrepreneurs, technology and business leaders, and IT managers are invited to attend this European technology event, which promises to provide useful networking opportunities and interactive panels. Other speakers include Brian O’Farrell, UK & Ireland manager, SMB sales with Google; and Chris Roche Greenplum, regional director at EMC.
